Societies
There are various associations, societies and groups by interest created in Bern:
- Groupings registered at UniBe
- Student body of the University of Bern (SUB) - offers various types of support for students. Ukrainian students might be specifically interested in the following:
- “Buddy system” – mentoring program aimed to assist with the integration of newcomers.
- “Perspective – project” - information for refugees (including holders of S status), who wish to study and people who support them along their way.
- SUB Social Fund - The SUB Social Fund supports SUB, MVUB members, and mobility students who find themselves in acute financial emergencies. In order to tackle these financial difficulties, the Social Fund Commission can raise up to CHF 5000 in form of a support contribution or loan.

The intermediate staff association of the University of Bern (MVUB) - offers various types of support for intermediate staff. Ukrainian staff might be specifically interested in the following:
- free of charge membership
- free initial legal consultation regarding matters of employment at the University of Bern
- Starterkits to get you started in your new position
- mentoring programs
- 500 Women Scientists is an organization that was created to promote and support women in science and science communication. They organize monthly meetings within the group, coaching sessions and networking lunches with prominent women in academia.
- Erasmus Student Network in Bern offers a variety of services, such as a buddy system, many different cultural events, adventurous trips, parties, and the language café. These activities are aimed at helping exchange students to get to know universities better, as well as the city of Bern, the whole country of Switzerland, and last but not least to get in touch with locals.
